Unconventional Bookshelf Looks Like a Conventional Bookshelf

john leung + clarkehopkinsclarke: isometric bookshelf
Australian architects john leung and clarkehopkinsclarke have designed a bookshelf based on an isometric drawing of an iconic bookshelf. It also has a recognizable reference to impossible object illusions. It's interesting that in trying to achieve a 3 dimensional representation of a somewhat abstract (or at least simplified) 2 dimensional representation of a 3 dimensional object, the functionality has been significantly transformed, if not compromised. It made me think of Rosie's experimentation with optical illusions in the context of Furniture Design.
